How it works

A check at every step.

Review the extracted manuscript before narration. Audition a voice on your own chapter. VoicedBook compares the narration with your text, retakes passages that drift, then prepares the audio for export.

01

Upload the book

PDF, EPUB or Word. The structure analysis finds front matter, chapters and back matter, and drops running headers, page numbers and footnote markers.

02

Review the manuscript

Chapter text is extracted, checked against the pages and editable before a single word is read. Fix a name, add a pronunciation, skip a section.

03

Audition a voice

Thirty voices, three paces, delivery notes, in English, Spanish, French, German and Portuguese with a native accent. Hear any voice on your own chapter before you commit; auditions are free.

04

Narrate with a verbatim check

Every passage is transcribed and compared with your text; anything that drifts is retaken automatically. You listen chapter by chapter and can record any single line again.

05

Master for delivery

Loudness, peaks, room tone and file lengths to the common audiobook spec. MP3 chapters, M4B and WAV masters.

06

Download the store packages

Export packages for Spotify for Authors, Google Play Books and Kobo, with the AI narration declaration each store asks for. Or send readers, reviewers or a publisher a private listening link.

Voices

Thirty narrators. Press play.

Each sample is a short passage in that voice. Inside the app you audition any of them on your own chapter, free.

Fiction and series

A voice for every character. Every name said right.

Give your characters their own voices while the narrator tells the story, and teach the narrator your names once for the whole series.

Character voices

  • Find speakers detects the dialogue and casts each character by gender and age
  • Each character gets a studio voice or one of your cloned voices
  • Quoted lines go to the character; the narration stays with the narrator
  • Mark any line yourself with [voice: Name]
  • Recast one character and only the passages where they speak are narrated again
  • Same price per word, however big the cast

How to cast a multi-voice audiobook

Pronunciation library

  • A pronunciation dictionary for each book, in plain respellings: Velmont as VEL-mont
  • Save names to your library and reuse them in every book
  • The Voice page shows which library names appear in a new book; add them in one click
  • Fix a name later and only the passages with that name are narrated again
  • Import and export as CSV; works with studio and cloned voices

What you are paying for. A finished audiobook, not text-to-speech minutes. A 90,000-word novel is about ten finished hours, so about $27 per finished hour for the initial narration. Do-it-yourself voice tools leave the chapter splitting, listening for skipped lines, pronunciation fixes, mastering and store packaging to you.

Done for you

Rather not do it yourself? We produce it for you. $7 per 1,000 words.

Where you can publish

Open about the voice.

Narration is AI-generated and delivered disclosed: every finished file is labelled, and the export packages carry the declaration each store asks for. You upload through your own retailer accounts, and each retailer applies its current review and eligibility requirements.

Audible/ACX is not currently a supported VoicedBook publishing destination. Check each retailer's current requirements before submitting. Your rights in the recording are yours; you make the AI narration disclosure on the store's site when you upload (the package tells you the exact wording).

Questions

Good to know.

How long does a book take?

Narration runs at roughly three times real time, chapter by chapter, plus the verification passes. A ten-hour novel is usually ready the same day; you get an email when it finishes.

What if a word is mispronounced?

Add the word to the book's pronunciation dictionary on the Voice page with a plain respelling, like VEL-mont for Velmont. Only the passages that contain it are narrated again. Save it to your pronunciation library and the next book starts with it. The verbatim check catches skipped or changed words automatically.

Can different characters have different voices?

Yes. Find speakers marks who says each quoted line and gives each main character a studio voice; you can change any of them or use one of your cloned voices. The narrator keeps the narration, and the price per word does not change.

Which languages can it narrate?

English, Spanish, French, German and Portuguese, each with a native accent, at the same price per word. The language is detected from your manuscript, and you can pick the accent: Spain or Latin America, France or Canada, Brazil or Portugal, US or UK. Dialogue written with dashes or guillemets gets character voices too. Audiobooks in other languages.

Can I fix one line without redoing the chapter?

Yes. On the Review page, pick the sentences you want recorded again and add a short direction if you like, such as slower or quieter. Only those sentences are replaced, at the narration rate for their words with a minimum of $0.10, and the previous take is kept so you can switch back. How to fix one line.

Can I share the audiobook before it is published?

Yes. On the Export page, make a private listening link for the whole book, a 5-minute sample or a voice audition. Anyone with the link listens in the browser without an account or a download button. Links can end after 7 or 30 days, show how often they were opened and can be turned off at any time. They are included in the price. How to send audiobook ARCs.

Can you produce the audiobook for me?

Yes. With Done for you we do the whole production in your account for $7 per 1,000 words (minimum $149): text cleanup, voices for each character, pronunciations, narration, a full listen with retakes, mastering and the store packages. Delivery is 7 days from payment and includes one free revision round.

Can I edit the text first?

Yes. The manuscript step shows every chapter's text next to its pages. You can fix extraction mistakes, remove sections and decide what gets narrated before paying anything.

Who owns the audiobook?

You do. VoicedBook is a production tool; you keep the rights to the recording and publish it under your own account on each store.

Who operates VoicedBook?

VoicedBook is a product of ZenTalk LLC. Payments are processed by Stripe, and your card statement shows VOICEDBOOK.COM.
